FREELANCE TVC DIRECTOR + ART DIRECTOR - Currently taking on projects
Over the past 20 years Mike has developed internationally recognised campaigns for Vodafone, Stella Artois, MINI, and Virgin Blue. His experience gained as an advertising agency senior writer, a head of art, National Creative Director, and now TVC Director, has given him an intimate understanding of ideas and how to communicate them through visually striking imagery.
Mike's time as the National Creative Director of one of Australia's top Content production companies, saw him apply and develop his visual storytelling skills to motion graphics projects, digital experiences, content creation and the direction of TV campaigns for national brands. Pair that production experience with his internationally award-winning design skills, and you have a TVC Director who can develop stunning visual pieces underpinned by strong, emotive performances; something he often achieves through a combination of live action and VFX.
Prior to arriving in Australia, Mike helped guide Lowe Worldwide (Auckland) to become one of the top five creative agencies in their 80-office global network: a substantial leap considering their previous year’s ranking was only 47. His work has been awarded at local and international level plus he has secured gold, silver and supreme trophies at national effectiveness and marketing shows.
Mike was the only South Australian to sit on the 2011 New York Festivals Jury, judging the Interactive and Art Direction technique categories, and the only art director to be invited to judge the 2011 Australian Insititute of Professional Photographers Awards (SA). His style blog - savilleandknight.tumblr.com - was selected as one of the top 10 blogs to watch in the world by Nickelson Wooster (ex-Neiman Marcus/Bergdorf Goodman Menswear Director). This selection was subsequently published in GQ magazine (USA) .
